Magnets are components, not energy sources

Modern generators depend on magnetic fields. That does not mean magnets create energy. A generator converts mechanical work into electrical work through electromagnetic induction. The turbine, engine, falling water, wind rotor, or hand crank supplies the energy crossing the boundary.

Permanent magnets can reduce excitation losses, make compact motors possible, and store field energy. They do not automatically provide a continuous energy source for a closed cycle.

One-way motion is easy to misread

A magnet can pull a rotor through part of a path, snap a latch, accelerate a ball, or move a pendulum. The missing question is what it costs to return every part to the starting state. A machine that only runs downhill in an energy landscape is not an engine.

The device must close the cycle: same magnet positions, same rotor speed, same spring state, same battery charge, same temperature, and same stored energy. If reset work is hidden in a hand motion or control coil, the energy balance is incomplete.

A spinning magnet generator still needs a prime mover

A permanent-magnet alternator can generate electricity when spun. Under load, the electrical output creates mechanical opposition. That opposition is the ordinary cost of conversion, not a conspiracy against free energy.

If a demonstration spins freely without a load and slows under load, it is behaving like a generator. If it claims not to slow under load, the test should measure torque, speed, electrical output, thermal rise, and all control inputs at once.

Minimum test for magnetic over-unity

The strongest magnetic claim would be a sealed, instrumented test running into a simple resistive load for long enough to rule out stored electrical, chemical, mechanical, and thermal energy. It would publish torque-speed data, true electrical power, temperatures, initial and final stored energy, and raw logs.

Absent that, treat magnet-motor media as a demonstration of force geometry, not proof of net energy.
